Jim Wilson, Founder & President
Jim Wilson knew from the time he was attending business classes at the University of New Brunswick in Saint John that he would be a "headhunter". After completing an MBA at Dalhousie University in 1987, Jim founded Wilson Executive Search.
Well respected as a recruiter, Jim has successfully conducted hundreds of executive searches for private and public sector organizations locally, nationally and internationally. He has also been involved in the early stage human capital planning and execution of recruitment efforts for several large construction projects in the energy sector.
Over the past 20 years Jim has started-up, purchased, and/or divested seven different companies in Canada and internationally. Jim's unique combination of entrepreneurial experience, along with recruitment and succession planning experience, positions him as a human capital expert in the field of Corporate Succession.
An entrepreneur, businessman and visionary, Jim has harnessed the power of technology to support his core business of recruitment. In early 1996, he launched CareerBeacon.com, Atlantic Canada's leading Internet recruitment advertising website. Jim continues to investigate and implement technological advances to support his core businesses of recruitment.
He was a founding member and a past President of InterSearch Canada, a partnership of retainer-based executive search firms located across Canada.
Jim is as passionate about giving back to his community as he is about his recruitment businesses. He has given of his time and expertise to the Halifax Metro United Way, the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia and the Canadian Cancer Society. He coaches PeeWee Football and is currently President of the Dalhousie MBA Alumni Association and is an Alumni representative on the Dalhousie University Board of Governors.
Virginia Sterling Boddie, Vice President
Virginia Sterling Boddie has played an integral, leadership role in managing the marketing and communications, administration and operations of the numerous ventures Jim has created over the past decade. Her knowledge and passion for the recruitment business is second to none.
Originally and proudly from Springhill, Nova Scotia. Ginny spent the first 10 years of her career in marketing, communications and administration in the health care industry at one of the largest long term care facilities in Eastern Canada. A successful entrepreneur in her own right, she has put her broad skill set to work consulting with owner operated businesses in strategic planning, marketing and operations.
Virginia’s natural curiosity and investigative instincts has given her the nickname “Nancy Drew” with her peers. Her results-driven personality, matched with her resourcefulness and creativity gets great results for clients. Her attention to customer service is exceptional, her judgment sound and her network broad.
Virginia has an education in Business Management and has studied at Mount Saint Vincent University and Henson College, Dalhousie University. Continuing education and training include completion of the Zenger-Miller leadership and management development program.
She has given her time and expertise to various community events in leadership roles for the World Women’s and World Junior’s IIHF Hockey Championships, the Peter Gzowski Golf Tournaments for Literacy and the United Way of Halifax.
