In preparation for the building of Canada’s future combat fleet (30 years, $25 billion) under the National Shipbuilding Procurement Strategy, Irving Shipbuilding Inc. seeks a Director of Supply Chain (contract management) in Halifax.
This pivotal position sets the direction of the Supply Chain efforts in order to efficiently and effectively execute on the building of naval combat ships for the Canadian Navy. The Director of Supply Chain is responsible for developing strong vendor/supplier relationships, negotiating major contracts, coordinating policies and procedures, implementing and providing effective service, attaining company revenue and growth objectives, and managing resources to meet those objectives.
The ideal candidate is a Supply Chain management leader with ten plus years’ experience in International Logistics Operations in very large construction projects or oil and gas related fields.
